Seth is a psychodynamically-oriented therapist, working to help you understand your history and how it’s influencing the ways in which you currently operate in the world. Those experiences can lead to defense mechanisms that can make it more challenging to fully connect to feelings and emotions.

Seth is an authentic therapist, focused on the importance of bring his humanity in the room. And while he takes the work seriously, he also believes it’s okay to also laugh at life, and ourselves. Seth works with his clients from a place of curiosity and empathy, and occasionally uses humor as a teaching tool and modeling for a healthy coping mechanism.

Before becoming a therapist, Seth earned his B.A. in Psychology from Emory University in Atlanta, where he contributed to research and conducted studies in England measuring children’s abilities to identify emotions in facial expressions.

Seth spent almost two decades working as an actor and writer in Hollywood and is very familiar with the unique challenges of working in the entertainment industry, specializing in working with many of clients who work in TV and film.

Seth received his Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in LA, and did post-graduate training at Beit T’Shuvah, an inpatient addiction facility. Seth brings a wealth of experience working with a variety of clients–some coming from a life of privilege; others who are transitioning out of the criminal justice system., as well as co-occurring disorders such as schizophrenia, bipolar, and borderline personality.

Seth is the Founder of Menachem Psychotherapy Group, a private practice based in Los Angeles. He is licensed to practice in New York, California, and Florida where he works with individuals, couples, and groups.
